Suzanne is the owner of Purple Blossom Yoga Studio and is excited to be serving the Greenville community as both a yoga teacher and artist. She moved here from Oxford, Mississippi where she worked as professional interior designer for the University of Mississippi. She has been studying yoga for over 20 years and completed her Yoga Alliance 200 hour Teacher Training Certification Program from Yoga Works in Memphis TN., May 2011. She has been living in Greenville for 6 years now & her passion and heart is yoga. She finished her advanced Yoga Teacher Training in June of 2014, RYT 500, and continues to practice and learn from her many teachers & students alike. She still studies with Annie Carpenter, her primary teacher, as time & travel allows. Suzanne is certified in Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga and Aerial Yoga and continues to be curious about life and yoga asana.
She has over 1000 hours of teaching yoga both in the classroom and privately. She welcomes you to come in and join the yoga tribe here at Purple Blossom with open heart & mind. One of her goals is to bring the best teachers in the area to Greenville for this community to enjoy & grow at Purple Blossom Yoga Studio. We are the only yoga studio here in Greenville and love being part of this community.

Jess grew up in Rocky Mount, NC and moved to Greenville in 2008. She currently lives here in Greenville with her husband, Jack, and their 2 dogs and 4 cats. Their love for their animals, along with her yoga practice, motivated them to switch to a vegan lifestyle last year. Jess is a registered Radiologic Technologist (RT-R), a 200 hour registered yoga teacher (RYT), and is currently close to completing training in Therapeutic Massage. In her free time, Jess enjoys crocheting, reading, listening to records, playing with her dogs and cats, and telling silly jokes.
Jess began her yoga journey right here at Purple Blossom in 2013. After a few years of experiencing the amazing benefits yoga had to offer, she enrolled in yoga teacher training. She completed her YTT at Longwave Yoga in Wilmington, NC in November 2015. Jess thoroughly enjoys practicing yin, restorative, and mindful, organic flows in her own practice. She looks forward to treating you to mix classes that challenge yet relax both your mind and body.
Sam came to yoga late in life and was intrigued by the improvements in flexibility and overall well-being that yoga brought. He has been practicing for 6 years and encourages everyone to give yoga a try, especially those that don’t think they can benefit by beginning a yoga practice. He received his 200 hour yoga teaching certificate from Asheville Yoga Center in 2013. He is retired and enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle.
I attended my first asana practice during college in Durham,NC in 1974. Yoga has been a part of my life, off and on, since that time. Early on I practiced yoga asanas (postures) primarily to build strength and flexibility to augment other athletic pursuits such as tennis, running and windsurfing. Through the years, my appreciation of the other 7 limbs of yoga has deepened, and my asana practice reflects than transition with more focus on pranayama and meditation. I earned 200 hour training from Valerie Baltzer in the spring of 2011 and a second 200 hour certification with Stephanie Keach at Asheville Yoga Center in July 2011. I'm currently working towards 500 hour certification by attending workshops whenever/wherever I can with teachers whose books or practice inspire me. These include; Gary Kraftscow (therapeutic/viniyoga), Doug Swenson and Shiva Rae (flow yoga), Shala Worsley (Yin yoga), Judith Lasater (yoga and internal organs), Angela Farmer ("organic" yoga), Amy Weintraub (yoga for depression and anxiety), Kimberly Carson and Carol Krucoff (therapeutic yoga for seniors at Duke Integrative Medicine Center). Most recently I had the pleasure of spending 5 days at the Feathered Pipe Ranch in Helena, Montana with the "grand dame" of yoga in the USA, Lilias Folan, who continues to teach in her seventh decade from the philosophy that "the joy is in the journey". I'm so happy to be at Purple Blossom studio and meet each of you in the joy of your own yoga journey!
Anna Dixon is the first person certified to teach AntiGravity® Yoga and Fitness not only in Greenville but in the entire state of North Carolina! And she is so excited to share this cutting-edge, life-changing technique with you!
Anna has been passionate about physical fitness and artistry her whole life. She started out as a competitive gymnast and graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Dance cum laude. Anna has also studied ethnic dance forms in Ghana, Cuba and Brazil. For over 20 years she has been teaching dance and yoga, choreographing and performing professionally throughout the United States, most recently having taught regular yoga classes at the PORT Center, DSM/Dyneema and with the Cancer Survivorship program through the Brody Sc
hool of Medicine. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2001 and incorporates her deep knowledge of the body in all of her teaching. All of her gifts find a perfect home in AntiGravity® Fitness, and she is the first to bring this unique technique to North Carolina. She is a Level 2 Instructor and received her training at the AntiGravity Lab in New York City (www.antigravityfitness.com).
Kathleen was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived in the northeast until moving from the Boston area to Durham, NC in 2002. She married Roger and moved to Tarboro in 2011. Kathleen is a family nurse practitioner, certified health coach and Pilate’s teacher. She received her Yoga Alliance 200 hour Teacher Training from Transcending Yoga in Swansboro, NC in 2012. Kathleen especially enjoys working with people who are new to yoga, and sharing the many joys and benefits of a yoga practice.
Don discovered yoga quite by accident in his late 50s, when he was searching for a way to energize himself in the morning. Two sun salutations, he found, were better that a cup of coffee. After taking yoga locally for about five years, he decided he wanted to give the gift he’d received to others and began the process of becoming a certified yoga teacher.
Since completing his 300 hour teacher training program with J.J. Gormley in 2007, Don has become certified to teach yoga to people with Multiple Sclerosis (with Karen Clarke O’Donnell) and has completed Mala Cunningham’s Cardiac Yoga certification program. Don teaches hatha yoga, concentratling on alignment, and over the years, has taught people with a wide range of physical challenges to people dealing with blindness, MS, heart conditions, and the restrictions imposed by a wheelchair. In 2011 Don participated in Swami Jnanashvara Bharati’s month-long yoga & meditation retreat in Rishikesh, India.
Heather has worked as a high school teacher in Greenville for over 11 years, and has been an avid yoga enthusiast since her first class as a student. She completed her 200-hour RYT through Karuna YTT program in Richmond, VA in the spring of 2016. Heather has connected physically, mentally and emotionally to yoga and wants to bring the discipline to children and adults of all ages. After dealing with an old injury that caused her chronic pain, she turned to yoga after other more conventional attempts at pain management failed. Today she is pain free and believes yoga can heal you and bring strength, energy and feelings of well-being.
Margaret Arnd-Caddigan’s interest in yoga is an extension of her life-long pursuit of mind-body-spirit integration. Margaret has a master’s degree in religious studies (focus on pre-Christian Indo-European religions), and a master’s and PhD in social work (specialization in psychotherapy), as well as being a newly-minted registered yoga teacher. She is an Associate Professor of Social Work at East Carolina University, where her current research is how therapists use intuition in their work. She also has a small private psychotherapy practice in Greenville.
I have never taken a formal yoga class before and my first experience was venturing to take the aerial yoga class at Purple Blossom Yoga Studio. The experience was very rewarding. I traditionally weight train, which is a more compressive exercise. This class was physically challenging and the ability to be weightless and to invert struck a core balance to my normal fitness routine. I felt so good the next day! I was amazed to wake up in such an alert state. I felt taller. Breathing was easier. My mind had latched on to an interest in yoga a few months ago and I?m so glad I chose the workshop. The studio and instructor were warm and very helpful. The routine was challenging yet relaxing. It left me feeling more radiant on the inside. I have decided that yoga needs to be a regular part of my routine. It fulfilled a void on all levels and I?m utterly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this. The level of knowledge demonstrated definitely made me feel comfortable that the instructors here teach with great care to ensure you reap the full rewards of this physical art form, which is how I interpret it. I felt like I was the art medium and yoga was the conduit for its expression. I would assume everyone takes away their own unique perspective of the practice and I can only hope it also touches them on such a personal level. Although a standard gym may offer classes, having experienced yoga in an environment supporting this practice, I can sense I would be left wanting due to that lacking. It truly supports the ability to fully engage and immerse yourself in such a deeply rewarding experience. I look forward to visiting your studio in the future. Julie
I have been a member of Purple Blossom for almost 3 years. I came to the studio not knowing a single pose or much about the philosophy and yet after each class I felt drawn more and more to yoga and the atmosphere at PB. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to learn and practice yoga in a beautiful environment with great teachers. Their experience has helped me advance my practice and achieve many goals.
